Born in Nagano Prefecture, Japan
1958
Graduated from Tokyo University of Fine Arts, Dept. of Architecture.
1958
Joined Takenaka Corporation, Design Dept.
1968~69
Joined Takenaka and Associates, San Francisco and worked at
Conklin and Rosant, New York
1981
Appointed Head of Design Dep. of the Tokyo office of
Takenaka Corporation.
1985
Appointed Principal Architect at Takenaka Corporation.
Buildings completed during this tenure include
MOA Museum at Atami, Yurakucho Mullion Bldg.,
Ote Center Office Bldg.
Minobusan Kuonji Temple (all of which received BCS awards)
amongst others.
1986
Awarded First Prize in the international design competition for the New National Theater, Tokyo (provisional name).
Formed TAK Associated Architects Inc.
1995
Awarded the 51th Japan Art Academy Prize.
1996
Reorganized Yanagisawa Takahiko + TAK Architects Inc.
